Chicks & Chat Sleepover: October 2
On Friday 2nd October, Chicks Chat, a newly formed community group initiated by Lynne Rice (from the Matthew Stanley Foundation), will add a new twist to an age-old custom by hosting a sleep-over party that girls and their mums can attend together. This is a group funded and supported by the Matthew Stanley Foundation, other concerned Redland businesses, and the Redlands Christian Reformed Church. Chicks Chat is an opportunity for Redlands mothers and their daughters to explore their relationships. The main goal is to try to improve communication at this very critical age, in a non-confrontational way.
The event's organisers want young girls to maintain good feelings about themselves and develop their self confidence as they emerge into womanhood. This group of mums are committed to creating a very positive atmosphere and something that's a positive influence and fun for the girls and mums.
The sleep-over party program, with plenty of games, presentations, girly stuff, movies and so much more on the agenda and even a tasty dinner from Cleveland Pizza Capers and breakfast provided by IGA Cleveland to share, will also be a chance for girls to meet others their age. This is primarily to give the mums and girls a chance to get to know each other better and to spend time together.
Mums & daughters from Redlands CRC are most welcome to attend.
