Prayer for Freebies

The Easter festival has come to mean different things to different people.  For 'we in the know' it is an opportunity to show the love of Christ to the greater community.  For many unchurched people there is the opportunity of some freebies:  free food + free rides & entertainment = free day out.  No problem.  But with the Easter festival this year, we want people get beyond just that.

So its time to start praying corporately & privately.  The latter can be done anytime, day or night in the lead up to the Easter.  There are a number of opportunities to join in the former. 

1.  RCRC has been 'rostered' to a time of prayer and fasting from 6am on 04/04/06 to 6am on 06/04/06.  More on this to come later.

2.  There is also a prayer vigil at the Tent of Promise.  We are rostered from Midnight Good Friday night to 1am Easter Saturday morning.  We need a team of people to attend at the Showgrounds for this 1 hour time slot.  Please mark this in your diary, it's more important than sleep.

Would you join in praying that this year, as people come on Easter Monday, that they would perceive the greatest freebie of all - their salvation.  Its great that Christians of the Redlands are joining together during this time.  No doubt many people grow out of this experience.  But we're not doing this for ourselves.  We want to see a harvest of souls!!

If they were giving away winning tickets to Powerball, everyone would stampede.  Here we are offering something so much more precious.  Join us in asking the King that people would see what is truely on offer this Easter.
